Building a passive High-Pass filter that allows frequencies above a certain value to remain in the signal while cutting out all frequencies below the threshold requires only one resistor and one capacitor. See the Wikipedia High Pass Filter page.
Using an Operational Amplifier, you could build a filter that allows only frequencies within a narrow band to pass through. See the Google Docs spreadsheet for calculating the parameters (Note: the graphics in the spreadsheet are static).
